WHAT WE KNOW
Fluorite (calcium fluoride, CaF₂) grows in cubic and octahedral crystal habits in hydrothermal vein deposits. Multi-color fluorite specimens, where violet and green occur in the same crystal or cluster, are among the most visually interesting expressions of the material.
