WHAT WE KNOW
Citrine is the yellow-to-orange variety of quartz (SiO₂). Its characteristic golden color is associated with trace iron impurities and natural irradiation effects within the quartz crystal lattice. In a cluster, multiple crystals grow simultaneously in the same cavity or on the same matrix, each competing for space and silica-rich fluid, producing the grouped-point form visible here. An important disclosure: commercially available citrine is very frequently heat-treated amethyst or smoky quartz that has been artificially colored through heating to above 470°C, which converts the purple or gray color to yellow-orange. Natural citrine and heat-treated citrine are visually difficult to distinguish without laboratory testing. THE STORY
The finder found it beneath a layer of ordinary stone. At first, they thought the light had caught something. Then they realized the light was coming from the stone itself.
